CANDLE SAFETY GUIDE

Our candles are carefully handmade to bring warmth, ambience and beautiful fragrance into your home. To enjoy your Castleinch Aroma candle safely and get the best experience from every burn, please follow the guidance below.

Before Lighting

  • Trim the wick to approximately 5 mm before each use (Unless stated otherwise on candle safety label/safety card)

  • Place the candle on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface.

  • Keep away from draughts, open windows, curtains and other flammable materials.

  • Remove the lid and any packaging before lighting.

  • Keep away from children, pets and anything that could catch fire.

  • Check the candle for debris, such as matches or wick trimmings, before lighting.

While Burning

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Keep away from children and pets at all times.

  • Never move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is hot.

  • Do not burn near other heat sources or in a draught.

  • Avoid touching the glass container, as it may become hot during use.

  • Do not allow wick trimmings or other foreign objects to collect in the melted wax.

  • Keep the candle away from flammable materials and allow sufficient space between burning candles.

  • Never burn a candle while sleeping or before leaving the room.

Burning Your Candle Correctly

  • Allow the wax to melt across the surface during the first burn, where possible, to help prevent tunnelling.

  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.

  • Discontinue use if the flame becomes excessively high, the container cracks or the candle behaves unusually.

Extinguishing Your Candle

  • Extinguish the flame carefully using a suitable candle snuffer, where possible.

  • Never use water to extinguish a candle.

  • Do not touch or move the candle until the wax has cooled and solidified.

  • Ensure the wick is fully extinguished and no embers remain before leaving the candle unattended.

When to Stop Using Your Candle

  • Stop burning when approximately 10 mm of wax remains at the bottom of the container, or sooner if the manufacturer's instructions specify.

  • Never burn a candle all the way to the bottom.

  • Do not continue using a candle if its glass container is cracked, chipped or damaged.

Storage and Care

  • Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.

  • Keep the candle covered when not in use to help preserve its fragrance and keep dust away.

  • Store out of reach of children and pets.

WAX MELT SAFETY GUIDE

Our wax melts are handmade to bring beautiful fragrance into your home. To enjoy them safely, please follow the guidance below.

Before Use

  • Use only with a suitable wax melt warmer designed for wax melts.

  • Always follow the warmer manufacturer's instructions.

  • Place your warmer on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface, away from draughts.

  • Keep away from curtains, fabrics, furniture edges and other flammable materials.

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.

While in Use

  • Never leave a lit tealight or switched-on wax warmer unattended.

  • Never move the warmer while the wax is hot or melted.

  • Do not add water or other substances to the melted wax.

  • Do not touch the warmer dish or melted wax, as they can become very hot.

  • Ensure the room is adequately ventilated.

  • Discontinue use if you experience irritation or discomfort from the fragrance.

Tealight and Electric Warmers

For tealight warmers:

  • Use only the recommended tealight size and type.

  • Place the warmer securely away from draughts and flammable materials.

  • Never leave the flame unattended, and extinguish it before leaving the room or going to sleep.

For electric warmers:

  • Follow the manufacturer's electrical safety instructions.

  • Keep the warmer and its electrical components away from water.

  • Switch off and unplug the warmer when not in use, where applicable.

Changing Your Wax Melt

  • Allow the wax to cool and solidify before removing it, unless your warmer manufacturer's instructions specify otherwise. (Quick tip, once cooled, light a tealight for 10 seconds, this will melt the base of the melt allowing for easy removal whilst keeping the rest of the melt completely solid)

  • Never pour melted wax down the sink or drain.

  • Do not use sharp objects to remove wax, as these may damage the warmer.

  • Clean the dish only when safe to do so and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

Important Safety Information

  • Not for consumption. Never eat wax melts or allow them to come into contact with food.

  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin. If contact occurs, follow the appropriate first-aid advice on the product label.

  • Keep wax melts in their original packaging, away from heat and direct sunlight, when not in use.

  • Fragrance may affect people with sensitivities. Use with caution if you are sensitive to scented products.

  • Keep away from children and animals. Wax melts and their fragrances may be harmful if swallowed.
